Why I’m building QuestPop
QuestPop started with my son, Harry.
Like many children, Harry is comfortable using his iPad. I noticed that when learning felt interactive and familiar, he was more focused, more involved and more willing to keep going. I wanted to help him learn at home without it feeling like another worksheet or another piece of schoolwork.
So I started building the kind of learning platform I wanted him to have: somewhere to explore topics, answer questions, try activities and projects, and see his effort recognised.
As QuestPop grew, I realised the same idea could help other parents supporting learning at home. It could also give schools another way to connect classroom activities, homework and longer projects, with parents and teachers able to follow the learning taking place.
QuestPop is still growing. We’re testing ideas, building new learning content and improving the platform as we learn what works. Harry’s experience is where it began — not a promise that every child will learn in the same way.
That is what I want QuestPop to be: a learning platform that keeps getting better.
Learning at home
It began with one child’s learning at home. The aim is to help more families explore, practise and learn together in a way that feels familiar.
A familiar way to explore
Children can explore available topics, interactive practice and activities on devices they already know. The aim is to make taking part feel inviting, not like another worksheet.
Support, not another classroom
Choose a topic, try an activity or work through an available project together. You do not need to recreate the classroom at home; QuestPop is another way to support learning alongside school or home education.
Follow learning together
Parents can link children’s accounts and view recorded activity in the parent dashboard — a starting point for talking about what they have tried and what to explore next.
QuestPop for schools
While QuestPop started at home, it is being developed with schools in mind. The tools below are available to explore; their potential for homework, classroom activities and home–school continuity is something we want to develop further.
Teacher-led targets and progress
Set class or individual pupil targets and view recorded in-app activity. These tools could support catch-up work, revision, consolidation and extension activities.
Curriculum referenced
Topic-based resources developed with reference to published curriculum materials, with coverage still under review. Available activities and projects offer starting points for teacher-guided homework and classroom work.
Free for schools
QuestPop will remain free for schools as we develop and improve it. The aim is to connect classroom learning with practice and projects at home on one familiar platform.
Classes, pupils and join codes
Create classes, manage pupil enrolment and generate join codes. Teachers can explore the school tools as the platform develops, without a claim that it meets every school’s needs yet.
Resources from Year 1 to Year 11
Selected resources span KS1 through to GCSE across six subjects. This does not represent every compulsory subject, KS4 entitlement area or wider statutory requirement. QuestPop is not a complete curriculum or a replacement for schools’ wider statutory provision. Coverage is still being reviewed, and resources continue to develop.
What we’re building
The foundations are here: learning, activities, projects, rewards and progress. We are developing them into an experience children want to explore, with useful visibility for the adults supporting them.
Learning, practice and projects
Available resources include structured lessons, interactive activities, quizzes and projects. We are adding content and refining how these pieces work together; coverage varies by subject and year.
Rewards for taking part
Stars, streaks, certificates and custom rewards recognise participation and effort. They are part of making the experience engaging, not a promise of better results.
A view of in-app progress
Pupil progress tracking and parent and teacher dashboards show recorded activity across available subjects. They support conversations about learning, rather than replace teacher assessment.
Join QuestPop
QuestPop is a work in progress — deliberately so. It started with one child and one simple idea: make learning at home something your child genuinely wants to take part in.
As we build, test and learn, the aim is to turn that idea into something useful for many more children, families and schools. Parents, pupils, tutors and school staff are welcome to try what is here and help shape what comes next.
